5 Best Laundry Services in Melbourne for a Stress-Free Way to Get Fresh, Clean Clothing

  • Turnaround Speed: We looked closely at how quickly each provider can return your clean garments. Fast options ensure busy professionals and travellers never get caught without a clean outfit.
  • Machine Efficiency: The quality and speed of the on-site commercial equipment played a major role in our evaluation. High-performance washers save you precious time while remaining gentle on different fabrics.
  • Pricing Transparency: We assessed how clearly each business lays out its rates and minimum order requirements. Clear pricing prevents unexpected costs when you pick up your fresh clothes.
  • Customer Convenience: Extra perks such as mobile app booking, central locations, and extended operating hours were heavily weighted. These features make it incredibly simple to fit chores into a packed weekly schedule.

1. Laundry Warehouse

Website:https://www.laundrywarehouse.com.au/

Address: 368 Lygon St, Brunswick

Contact: 394 544 888

Hours:

Dry Cleaner:

  • Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday:  7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Laundromat: Monday – Sunday: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM

It can be tricky to find a place that both takes care of your clothes and is mindful of the environment, but Laundry Warehouse makes it easier.

They use an advanced system with biodegradable detergents and avoid harsh chemicals like perchloroethylene (PERC), which is a nice win if you’re trying to keep things a bit more eco-friendly in your day-to-day life.

The venue itself feels pretty modern, with cashless payments, air conditioning, and TV screens to keep you occupied while you wait.

And if you’re within about 10 kilometres of Brunswick East, they even handle pick-up and delivery. It’s super handy when things get busy.

My brother actually tried them last month when his washing machine flooded, and he was pleased by the smooth online booking process.

Just be aware that you’ll need to plan ahead, as their standard wash-and-fold service usually takes about 2 business days. They’re not for you if you need your clothes on the same day.

Pros

  • Eco-friendly detergents
  • Free pickup and delivery
  • Cashless modern machines
  • On-site clothing alterations

Cons

  • Limited 10-kilometre delivery radius
  • 2-day wash turnaround time

Customer Reviews:

I just picked it up and it is pristine

After very poor customer service and results at another dry cleaner I cannot praise Laundry Warehouse enough. I had an item poorly cleaned at another location and without saying anything I dropped it off  at Laundry warehouse and I just picked it up and it is pristine. Job well done and there’s no harsh toxic chemical smell. I’ll definitely be back and have already started recommending you!

Hassle-free laundry system

Laundry Warehouse do an excellent job and we are so happy to be working with them! Highly recommend for any busy business that is looking for an easy and hassle-free laundry system. ⭐️ 🧼 🧺

2. The Lonely Sock

the-lonely-sock

Website:https://thelonelysock.com.au/

Address: Upper West Side (UWS) Midtown, Shop 304, 11 Rose Lane

Contact: 1800 940 602

Hours:

Self-Service: Monday – Sunday: 7:15 AM – 9:00 PM (24/7 access for UWS residents with room key)

Staff Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

City life moves fast, and when you’re juggling a packed schedule, having clean clothes ready in a hurry can make a big difference.

The Lonely Sock solves that problem by offering a reliable same-day turnaround for wash, dry, and fold orders as long as you drop them off early enough.

The best part is that they’ve got secure locker access running 24/7, so you can pick up or drop off your laundry whenever it actually fits into your day.

If you’re staying in a hotel in the central area, their valet alternative is a handy option. It also tends to be a lot more affordable than typical hotel laundry services.

Do take note, though, that self-serve prices are a bit higher than at suburban spots, mainly due to the city location and operating costs.

Plus, payments made outside staffed operating hours are card-only, so cash transactions won’t be available during those times.

Pros

  • Same-day turnaround service
  • Twenty-four-hour locker access
  • Affordable hotel valet option
  • Fully accessible layout

Cons

  • Higher self-serve washing prices
  • Card-only payments outside staffed hours

Customer Reviews:

Do my laundry everytime

Always went to this place to do my laundry everytime I visited Melbourne.

The place is bright, clean and cozy. Their waiting place has books to read (I believe you can put books here as well).

The paying system can be confusing and I made mistake when I first tried. I had double charged but it was refunded.

I suggest to ask others or the staff if you are new.

And come very early or during weekday to avoid crowd.

Always helpful and friendly

I cannot rate The Lonely Sock highly enough. I travel to Melbourne on business quite often and was paying a ridiculous amount of money to have the hotel to laundry for me as I did not have the availability to do it myself. One of their massive laundry sacks would typically cost me more than four times as much to have the hotel launder it for me.. On top of that I get it delivered back to the hotel! The staff is always helpful and friendly. Wish I had found you guys sooner! Thank you once again!

3. Wash Bar Laundromat

wash-bar-laundromat

Website:https://www.wash-bar.com.au/

Address: 138 Peel St

Contact: 430 455 920

Hours: Monday – Sunday: 6:00 AM – 12:30 AM

No one enjoys sitting in a cold, gloomy laundromat while waiting for clothes to finish spinning. Wash Bar Laundromat fixes that by creating a space that actually feels comfortable, with clean seating and a more welcoming atmosphere.

The owners, Dharm and Deval, started the shop after becoming frustrated by the lack of decent local laundromats.

So, here, they use high-speed commercial machines. With these, you can get a full wash done in about 23 minutes if you’re in a rush. If you have doonas and beddings, you can trust their larger machines to handle them too.

Another thing I like about them is that small local businesses can get loyalty discounts and simple tax invoices when they use the service frequently.

Just a heads-up: you’ll want to charge your phone before you go, since there aren’t any accessible power outlets for customers.

Also, their social media customer support can be slower during busy periods.

Pros

  • Free parking available
  • Rapid twenty-three-minute express cycle
  • Comfortable clean seating areas
  • Loyalty discounts for businesses

Cons

  • No accessible customer power outlets
  • Slower social media customer support

The machines are new and clean

I really recommend this laundry shop if you are near. The owner is thoughtful and will help you with any questions. The machines are new and clean. You can pay with credit card and there’s wifi available in case you want to watch something or work while waiting

4. Jim’s Laundry Services

jim-s-laundry-services

Website:https://jimslaundryservices.com.au/

Address: 92 Derby St

Contact: 131 546

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Saturday – Sunday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

If you’re dealing with a packed schedule, heavy laundry bags can feel like one more thing you just don’t have time for.

Jim’s Laundry Services helps take that pressure off by offering free pick-up and delivery straight to your doorstep or even your hotel room. It’s pretty convenient when you’re on the go!

But what truly sets them apart is that every operator is fully insured and police-checked, so you know your clothes are being handled properly.

Plus, if something doesn’t come out quite right or you’re not happy with the result, they’ll work with you to fix it, thanks to their satisfaction and workmanship guarantee.

They’re also a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider, so billing is pretty straightforward for eligible users.

The only catch is that there may be delays in receiving replies when requesting quotes online, especially during busy periods.

Pros

  • Free home pickup and delivery
  • Full satisfaction workmanship guarantee
  • Vetted and insured operators

Cons

Customer Reviews:

My laundry was clean & fresh, folded beautifully

Alicia was approachable  easy to talk to & make arrangements with. I have a disability that makes doing the laundry such an effort & Alicia took that burden off my shoulders. My laundry was clean & fresh, folded beautifully & ready to put away. I highly recommend Jim’s Laundry Ringwood

Washing came back cleaner than I normally do it

Never used a laundry delivery service before. This company were great. Very courteous and helpful. Washing came back cleaner than I normally do it and they gave me a great deal on cost when I assured them I’ll be using their business regularly. Excellent service.

5. Laundromat Express

laundromat-express

Website:https://www.laundromatexpress.com.au/

Address: 28 Merriman Lane

Contact: 418 570 987

Hours: Monday – Sunday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM

Laundromat Express makes laundry days a lot easier by removing some of the usual small hassles that catch you off guard.

One of the biggest perks is that they actually provide high-quality soap powder for free with every wash, so you don’t have to make an extra trip to the corner store. Their machines are eco-friendly commercial washers, too.

Plus, they get the job done fast, often in under 30 minutes. Even better, they’re still gentle enough for more delicate fabrics, which is always a relief.

Regular customers can also benefit from a loyalty system that gives bonus credits when they top up their accounts.

I like that they have a modern digital payment system where you can just tap a card and get started right away.

Just keep in mind that the laundry shop can get a bit crowded, especially when commercial businesses are using the machines.

The higher-standard wash and dry cycles also come at a premium price point compared to basic self-service laundromats.

Pros

  • Complimentary high-quality soap powder
  • Cashless digital payment system
  • Fast thirty-minute wash cycles
  • Useful loyalty credit bonus

Cons

  • Place is crowded with commercial users
  • Higher standard cycle pricing

Customer Reviews:

It’s life saver when you’re travelling

Hotel laundry service is expensive. This place provides a self-service laundry service. Only 7AUD for washing 15mins and 6AUD for drying 30mins.

Washing powder is also provided. Also you can use card or notes to exchange coin from the machine.

It’s life saver when you’re travelling

Satisfied that I can get help right away

It has a spacious and clean space and a laundry detergent that can be used for free, and a male employee wearing a grey Nike hood straw is disinfecting it from time to time, and I am so satisfied that I can get help right away when I make mistakes.
