The 5 Best Boutique Shops in Melbourne That Fashion Lovers Keep Coming Back To

Fabric Quality - I closely examined the materials used by each retailer to make sure their pieces can hold up well over multiple seasons. I gave extra points to stores that offer premium craftsmanship and pieces that feel more lasting than fast-fashion finds.

Curation Originality - I looked for shops that bring something fresh and distinct to the local fashion scene instead of simply following mass trends.  I prioritized retailers with an eclectic mix of labels, giving shoppers a better chance of finding signature wardrobe pieces.

Customer Experience - I considered the overall store atmosphere and how approachable, helpful, and attentive the staff is. I focused on places where the service feels warm and welcoming, without any intimidating or gatekeeping energy.

Size Diversity - I reviewed how well each storefront caters to different body types, style preferences, and wardrobe needs. I favored shops with inclusive options that help more customers feel comfortable, confident, and represented.

The first time I went boutique shopping in Melbourne, I told myself, “I’ll just browse.”

Twenty minutes later, I was holding a blazer, a dress, and trousers that somehow made me feel instantly cooler. So yes, these local gems got me real quick!

That’s the fun of exploring the city’s fashion scene. You’ll find independent designers, hidden laneway finds, and stylish racks that make mass-produced pieces feel boring.

And if you’re booking a makeup artist or seeing a custom-made tailor for an event, a standout outfit can pull the whole look together.

So here are the best boutiques in Melbourne that’ll bring fresh flavor to your wardrobe!

How much does shopping at a boutique shop cost in Melbourne?

Shopping at a boutique shop in Melbourne typically ranges from$150 to $400+ AUD for a standard clothing item, depending on the designer, fabric, and location.

Prices may be higher for custom pieces, limited collections, or locally made garments.

1. Le Style Boutique

Address: 136 Little Collins Street

Contact: +61 423 185 118

Hours: Sunday 11 am–5 pm, Monday to Thursday 10 am–6:30 pm, Friday 10 am–7 pm, Saturday 10 am–6 pm

At Le Style Boutique, you might feel a bit guarded when you first step in, but once you start browsing, you’ll notice the real draw right away.

While the service can depend on who’s working that day, the heart of the place is clearly in the luxury inventory.

I’d go straight for their designer racks; they carry names like Versace, Balmain, and Palm Angels for a reason.

The collection is packed with high-end pieces, featuring bold streetwear, polished statement items, and global labels that come together for a seriously luxe shopping experience.

Sometimes they’ll even arrange same-day Uber delivery for local metro clients, which is a perk you can never say no to!

And if you’re shopping online, the free domestic shipping on orders over $300 makes browsing even more tempting.

Pros

  • Carries well-known luxury designer fashion labels
  • Offers bold streetwear and statement pieces
  • Provides same-day Uber delivery for locals
  • Free domestic shipping on orders over $ 300

Cons

  • Service quality depends on the available staff
  • First impression may feel slightly guarded

Always so welcoming

I just love Le style Boutique and the team behind it. They are always willing to help me find exactly what I’m after whether it’s in store or online. The team are always so welcoming whenever I pop in store. I have also shopped online multiple times and each time my purchases have arrived the very next day. I highly recommend Le style boutique

Amazing range of brands & products

I absolutely love this boutique it has an amazing range of brands & products and is always immaculately presented. The owner & staff are so lovely, warm & accomodating, I find their customer service more genuine than other high end stores and they are not pushy so it is a more relaxed experience (I hate feeling pressured when shopping!). Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Melbourne or just shopping in the city!

2. Lana Berg

lana-berg

Website: https://lanaberg.com.au/

Address: 346 Clarendon Street, South

Contact: +61 3 9690 8702

Hours: Tuesday to Friday 10:00AM – 4:30PM (4:30PM – 5:30 PM by appointment only), Saturday 10:00AM – 4:00PM

There are plenty of boutiques in Melbourne where you can find stylish pieces, but Lana Berg stands out when it comes to color and fit analysis.

Other shops sometimes leave you guessing what suits you, while here it’s done with real care: flattering, complexion-friendly, and even better when paired with labels like Mela Purdie, Sacha Drake, and Raffaello Rossi!

The boutique itself feels thoughtfully curated, with premium local and international pieces that make browsing feel easy instead of overwhelming.

When I stopped by last month, the stylist instantly knew which tones worked for me, saving me hours of trial and error.

It’s not the easiest spot for weekend shopping, though, since the physical boutique is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Still, their lower free express shipping threshold makes online shopping a convenient backup.

Pros

  • Strong color and fit analysis
  • Carefully curated premium fashion labels
  • Stylist gives quick, helpful advice
  • Online shopping has easier shipping

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays and Mondays

Make me feel beautiful every time

The only place I want to shop at is Lana Berg. Lana and Karen offer a true shopping experience. They offer real advice on what suits your size and shape! They cater for all sizes and carry the most beautiful labels. You are guaranteed that not everybody is wearing the same clothes. Thanks ladies, you make me feel beautiful every time I step out of your boutique. Emma

3. Melko

melko

Website: https://www.melko.com.au/

Address: 18 Howey Pl

Contact: 03 9529 2900

Hours: Monday to Friday 10AM to 5:30PM

I can’t recommend Melko enough if you’re looking to escape Victoria’s usual dark wardrobe. Their South American and Brazilian fashion is honestly some of the most exciting I’ve seen in the CBD!

The colors are bold, the patterns are full of life, and every piece feels like it has its own story behind it.

I love that their items are hand-picked from the streets of Rio and the high-end boutiques of São Paulo during annual buying trips, meaning you’re not getting the same styles everyone else has.

The only catch is that they bring over just one or two items per design, so if you see something you love, grab it fast before your size disappears!

Pros

  • Bold South American and Brazilian fashion
  • Hand-picked pieces from Rio streets
  • Unique styles rarely seen elsewhere
  • Vibrant colors and lively patterns

Cons

  • Very limited stock per design

4. Kitten D’Amour Melbourne

kitten-damour-melbourne

Website: https://kittendamour.com/

Address: Shop 213, Level 2, Melbourne Central Shopping Center, 211 Latrobe Street

Contact: (03) 9650 2140

Hours: Monday to Wednesday 11:00 am – 7:00 pm, Thursday to Friday 11:00 am – 9:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am – 7:00 pm, Sunday 11:00 am – 7:00 pm

I like how Kitten D’Amour Melbourne makes shopping feel like stepping into a bygone era: soft, romantic, and full of 18th-century French charm.

The pieces lean vintage without looking outdated, with lots of lace, gorgeous rosettes, and feminine silhouettes that stand out from the usual trend-driven racks.

Their corset dresses are the kind of thing I’d come back for. A close friend of mine bought one here last month, and she said it felt beautifully made, especially since the tailors use sustainable materials whenever possible.

They also produce in small batches, so if you want something unique and not like everyone else’s outfit, this is such a good place to check out.

Just check the size guide closely before buying, as the fit can vary between collections. Their return policy is a little strict, too, with store credit only, and the fitting room process can come with specific staff instructions.

Pros

  • Romantic vintage-inspired French fashion pieces
  • Beautiful lace, rosettes, feminine silhouettes
  • Corset dresses feel thoughtfully well-made
  • Small-batch pieces feel more unique
  • Uses sustainable materials whenever possible

Cons

  • Fit may vary between collections
  • Return policy only allows store credit
  • Fitting room process has staff instructions

The pieces are sculptural, creative, and surprisingly accessible for what you’d find in international multi-brand boutiques!

If it’s your first time here, you’ve got to check out their artist collaborations. They work with major Australian names like Patricia Piccinini to create gorgeous, wearable art pieces that still feel easy enough for everyday outfits.

Gorgeous boutique shop in the Melbourne CBD

Gorgeous boutique shop in the Melbourne CBD, making it a must-visit. I was very kindly assisted by their wonderful store personnel. I went there about 4 times trying to decide what to get and in all times everyone had been so helpful and lovely to me. Items are high-quality and tasteful. I want to make a special mention for Freya who made shopping here such a nice experience for me. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in town. Nothing but good things to say about this shop and brand
