Melbourne Ear Specialists focuses purely on ear and hearing conditions, giving patients direct access to specialised otology and neurotology care.

Surgeons Professor Robert Briggs and Associate Professor Jean-Marc Gerard bring international post-fellowship training to their appointments. They treat a wide range of conditions, from childhood hearing loss to complex acoustic neuromas.

The clinic also houses Neurosensory, so patients can access hearing assessments on-site for added convenience.

The separate billing for hearing services can also catch some patients off guard, so it’s worth checking the costs beforehand.

Pros

  • Dedicated ear and hearing focus
  • Subspecialist otology and neurotology expertise
  • Co-located hearing assessments
  • Clear upfront surgical cost estimates

Cons

  • Reports of rushed initial consultations
  • Separate invoicing for hearing tests

An ENT surgeon for complex issues

If it was possible to give professor Briggs a 10 star rating I would I had pretty much lost all hope with regards to getting any of my hearing back but he suggested I should have my right eardrum replaced and only just under a week after surgery I can already tell there is a major difference with my hearing he is completely knowledgeable and is so kind and should anyone require the services of an ENT surgeon for complex issues I couldn’t recommend this man highly enough

I cannot thank him enough for his professionalism and care he provided

I have been a patient of Professor Briggs for over 10 years now. After some corrective surgery early on to correct surfers ear in both my ears along with the management of a surprise glomus tumour , I cannot thank him enough for his professionalism and care he provided.  Every appointment was met with kind and ongoing reassurance that I was getting better after each surgery.

I would not hesitate to recommend professor Briggs and his team , they are brilliant all round.

Parents often face sleepless nights when recurring earaches strike their little ones. Mr Patrick Walsh provides dedicated paediatric and adult ENT care, combining general otolaryngology with UK fellowship training in rhinology and sinus surgery.

His practice also offers convenient in-house hearing checks for babies from nine months old, along with allergy testing. Plus, he does private surgery at Linacre, Holmesglen, or Cabrini hospitals.

When we interviewed a coworker who booked sinus surgery here, they told us the surgical plan was clear and easy to understand.

I would highly recommend Dr Patrick Walsh to any patients who require ENT surgery. Dr Walsh operated on my 17 month old son who required grommets. The surgery was quick and easy and my son recovered exceptionally well. Dr Walsh has a great bed side manner, is caring and a skilled surgeon.

The sincerity and care as if I was a friend or family member

Patrick Walsh is an exceptional ENT and I cannot recommend him more highly. As someone who had a phobia of hospitals, and had never had surgery before, I was very anxious. However, Patrick set me completely at ease – when asking for his advice on what I should do he gave me the sincerity and care as if I was a friend or family member. He is wonderful

Chronic sinus pressure and childhood throat problems often demand specialists with diverse clinical backgrounds.

Fortunately, Specialist ENT Care Melbourne delivers comprehensive ear, nose, and throat treatments for patients of all ages, covering both medical and surgical paths.

Lead surgeon Mr Dan Gordon completed advanced pediatric fellowship training in the United States, making him well-suited for young patients. The clinic also welcomed Dr Ravi Jain, an ENT surgeon with specialized research experience in chronic sinusitis.

They perform helpful office-based procedures, including flexible nasendoscopy and ear suctioning.

But because each surgeon has distinct subspecialties, you need to match your specific issue to the right doctor.

Also, patients looking for a single specialist who handles every subspecialty equally might find this division less straightforward.

Pros

  • Broad medical and surgical ENT coverage
  • Dedicated pediatric fellowship experience
  • Specialized rhinology and sinus expertise
  • Convenient office-based diagnostic procedures

Cons

  • Subspecialties split between different surgeons
  • Requires selecting a doctor based on symptoms

All surgeons here possess at least 15 years of medical and surgical training. When my sister visited their clinic for severe vertigo, she appreciated having audiology, pathology, and radiology all under one roof.

Compassionate, actively listened & explained each of the examinations clearly

I liked Dr Dean Page as soon as I met him. He was compassionate, actively listened & explained each of the examinations clearly. He altered the anti biotic & organized a prompt scan which enabled him to confirm whether I could fly overseas in the next 48 hours or not.

I was also impressed by all of the ENT support staff from the central phone booking call to contacting Dean’s secretary who in turn phoned me back promptly.

I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Dean Page and the ENT staff.

Organise everything quickly and clearly explain the surgery and next steps

I had a really positive experience with Dr Dean Page!

He was caring, calm and highly professional, and from the first appointment he made me feel at ease. Even with the timing so close to the Christmas shutdown, he went above and beyond to organise everything quickly and clearly explain the surgery and next steps.

His great demeanour and efficiency made what could have been a stressful time feel very manageable.

I would definitely recommend Dr Page to anyone needing an ENT specialist. 🙂

Recommended to anybody looking for an experienced ENT surgeon

I was looked after and treated by Dr Claire Iseli. She is a very knowledgeable and talented surgeon, and a beautiful person altogether. I highly recommend Dr Claire to anybody looking for an experienced ENT surgeon. A genuine kindness, sympathy, deep knowledge and experience, and care all combined in one person, is a rare combination nowadays. I was treated professionally and kindly by the staff, too.  I am deeply grateful for the service that I received from Dr Claire and the ladies.

Empathetic, compassionate, and knowledgeable ENT

She has been absolutely brilliant with my 3 year olds surgery (tonsils and adenoids), from initial consultation, preop, during,  and post op. She made tje whole experience child friendly and our daughter was very comfortable with her. Highly recommend Dr. Claire Iseli and I am super grateful for her commitment to her patients.
