1. Elite Gym Supplies

Website: https://equip-gyms.com/
Address: 35 Collins St.
Contact: [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Elite Gym Supplies makes it easy to build a complete home gym or even outfit a full commercial fitness space without having to jump between different stores.
Their huge range covers everything from heavy-duty treadmills to solid barbells, so you can grab all your cardio and strength gear in one stop.
When I checked their equipment, the strong, commercial-grade frames really stood out, especially from brands like Vision and Body-Solid that are built to last.
They also offer volume discounts, which is great if you’re setting up a training studio or buying in bulk.
The only drawback is that their one-year warranty isn’t consistent across all items, so you need to double-check each product page carefully. Also, weekend availability is limited, which can make visits harder to plan.
2. MMA Fight Store Melbourne

Website: https://mmafightstore.com.au/
Address: Level 1 / 349 Elizabeth Street
Contact: (03) 9606 0777
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM; Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Saturday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
MMA Fight Store Melbourne is a go-to spot for anyone serious about combat sports training, since it focuses only on MMA and related gear.
You’ll find everything from boxing gloves to wrestling equipment, all designed for intense training sessions.
Having a physical showroom on Elizabeth Street is a big plus because you can check the quality and fit of protective gear in person before buying.
They also stock trusted martial arts brands, so the equipment is made to handle tough, regular use.
One downside is that customer service can feel inconsistent, especially during busy periods.
Another issue is that the shop can get quite crowded, making it harder to get help quickly while browsing.
Knowledgeable, super friendly, helpful
Went in recently for a client who has just begun training. The staff were knowledgeable, super friendly, helpful and went the extra mile to ensure my client could get all equipment he needed on his budget.
I couldn’t recommend MMA fight store more highly!

Great store with very reasonable prices and a good range of equipment. Staff provided great advice on the products I was looking for. I’d love to see a bigger collection of Muay Thai apparel and equipment however

3. Tans Martial Arts Supplier

Website: https://www.tansmas.com.au/
Address: 79-81 Munster Terrace
Contact: (03) 9391 4649
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM; Saturday, 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Tans Martial Arts Supplier is a long-running local store that’s perfect for gym owners, coaches, and martial artists who need custom club gear.
They’ve been in the industry for decades, supplying uniforms, protective equipment, and training targets for both schools and individuals.
What really makes them stand out is their custom embroidery and branding service, which lets clubs add logos directly onto uniforms and training apparel for a more professional look.
They also run regular online promotions, helping customers save on essential gear.
On the downside, larger or heavier items may take longer to arrive because they may ship via alternative couriers rather than express post. Their Saturday hours are also quite short, which can limit weekend visits.
Superior quality all round
3 days and 3 visits and each time the service has been first class. Staff are genuinely courteous, exceptionally patient, very knowledgeable and super welcoming. The experience is such that you will not want to rush your visit.
As for the products/equipment, it all falls in line with their quality service – superior quality all round, as well as a wide-ranging selection. The fact that this business is family owned and run, adds to the care and quality of all. I will definitely be returning many times.

Great equipment
I have been a customer for… whoa… more than two decades. Normally I would go to the store to see all their great equipment but recently I had to order online due to what has been happening. The team at Tans knew that postage would be slow at the moment so they went above and beyond to get my order to me quickly. Thank you!

4. Bogong

Website: https://www.bogong.com.au/
Address: 374 Little Bourke Street
Contact: (03) 9600 0599
Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM; Thursday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Bogong is a family-owned outdoor store that’s a good choice for climbers and people who need reliable gear for outdoor activities.
They’ve been around since 1989 and have built a strong reputation for selling climbing equipment from well-known international brands.
Their Melbourne showroom on Little Bourke Street is especially helpful because you can try on climbing shoes and check other gear before you buy it. Plus, their staff is helpful in explaining safety details, which makes it easier to choose the right equipment.
The downside is that returning items bought online can cost extra in shipping, so mistakes can get expensive. Sizes can also vary a bit between products, so it’s often better to try things in-store when you can.
I would definitely go through Bogong equipment again
Friendly and knowledgeable person answered questions I had and was forthcoming with useful information.
Very helpful when ordering, could not access website to order.
My order arrived promptly.
I purchased an Exped Venus II Extreme tent.
I have an Exped Orion tent which I have had for some time and purposely was looking for the same quality in one for my son.
I would definitely go through Bogong equipment again.

This will be the only hiking store I will visit. Impressive.
Outstanding service.
I purchased a Soto Windmaster stove yesterday. The service I received was outstanding with the assistant more than happy to be flexible on the price matching anther store’s price. This was in direct contrast to a shop very close by that were steadfast on their price, even after purchasing $900 worth of gear from them.
From now this will be the only hiking store I will visit.
Impressive. Thank you Bogong Equipment.

5. 99 Bikes South Melbourne

Website: https://99bikes.com.au/
Address: 462 City Road
Contact: (03) 9957 1847
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Sunday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
99 Bikes South Melbourne is a go-to spot for cycling fans who want plenty of choice in one place.
As part of a nationwide retailer, this store offers a wide range of bikes, indoor trainers, and cycling accessories suited for both everyday riders and serious fitness users. They also have plenty of bikes for commuters and weekend riders.
One of the best things is their in-house workshop, where trained mechanics handle servicing and repairs. That means you don’t need to go somewhere else to get your bike fixed, which is really convenient if you’re busy.
However, repair timelines in the workshop can sometimes run longer than expected, depending on demand. Also, phone support can be slow during busy periods, which may delay quick updates.
Generous service ALL THE TIME!
My friend and I bought our bikes 5months ago and we’ve had no issues. The staff assist us and go above and beyond with any issues such as pumping our tyres and mounting extra equipment we’ve bought thereafter.
Best bikes ever! Comfy seats, can ride for 5hours ongoing with no issues. So pleased! Thank you for the generous service ALL THE TIME!

A wide range of accessories and equipment
Matt in the workshop took my bike and worked his magic with it this week. Replaced a wheel and the cassette, gave it a tune up, replaced a couple of parts and gave it a clean. My ride home this evening was a dream, it was such a pleasure. He did a great job but encouraged me to drop back in if anything should need alteration.
In store they have helpful sales staff and a wide range of accessories and equipment. Pricing was competitive.
Would recommend, and will be back!
